Here is a selection of images taken from various festivals of las Bodas de Isabel de Segura. Over 20 years ago, Raquel Esteban Martin created a medieval festival to celebrate Los Amantes de Teruel. Every February, the city becomes a medieval village and has more than 200 actors, 4,500 extras, and 17,000 towns’ people collaborating by wearing medieval costumes and receiving more than 60,000-80,000 visitors. This compelling story for all ages has already become a classic in Spain.

 

At the risk of losing everything, Diego de Marcilla leaves his city in search of fortune and a title in order to marry the woman he loves, Isabel de Segura. Serving King Pedro II of Aragon, he travels from Teruel to Toledo, then to the south of France to fight a thousand battles, live a thousand adventures all for love during a period of five years, after which he will return to Teruel. Upon his return, he finds one very unpleasant surprise…
